BARNSLEY HOSPICE HOBBLE 2009
Last year a team from our club completed the 12 mile Hospice Hobble sponsored walk. When put together with money raised from the Dad's race at our Christmas Sprint we were able to donate over £1000 to Barnsley Hospice. Fantastic!
This year's sponsored walk takes place this Sunday 6th September, 10.00am, starting and finishing at Cannon Hall. Walkers can enter on the day, but if you don't fancy a hike around Barnsley you can still sponsor the swimmers who are kindly giving up their Sunday for this worthwhile cause. An envelope will be on the notice boards over the next few nights - every penny counts so please throw in your change from the coffee machine or those pennies stuck in the bottom of your pocket. For any larger donations please add your details as the hospice can claim Gift Aid which raises even more money. Thank you. Andy Schofield
Alton Towers/Loughborough Trip
Thanks to the team captains, Sidony and Adam, for organising this year's trip to Alton Towers. The photos I've seen certainly suggest everyone had a good day.
Congratulations and thank also to those responsible for organising and running the weekend to Loughborough University. Well done to all the swimmers who trained hard and were a credit to themselves and the club. Andy Schofield
