From time to time BOBSC ask swimmers to make up a team, it could be Minors League, Yorkshires, Northeastern, novice, or just a team in a gala we are attending. When asked it is important to remember that without any one of the swimmers it may not be possible to field a team or the team may be weakened, so please help by letting the Head Coach know ASAP if you cannot attend. ROTHERHAM METRO A/B GRADE MEET - report
SOUTH YORKSHIRE SPORTS AWARDS
At this years South Yorkshire Coach Awards our Head Coach, Paul Braithwaite was awarded Coach of the Year 2010. The ceremony was held at the Institute of Sport in Sheffield with over 300 people attending.
All nominees were filmed a few weeks before the ceremony to give a brief description of their roles in the Coaching category. The main question was "What would it mean to you if you won the award". Pauls answer was "It's not about me, it is about the children who swim and the club. If it means that the club gains more recognition then that is great". He was suprised (but very pleased) when he won the award as one of the nominees had a significant number of years experience in another field.

WEBB IVORY CATALOGUE
Have you got a Webb Ivory Catalogue? Would you like to order something? I am sending in another order next week (week ending Sunday 14th November) I have received the first order and will be distributing the goods shortly.
If you have a catalogue and do not want to order anything would you please hand it to Carol Brain or a member of the committee and we can pass it on.

XMAS SPRINT SPONSORSHIP
To all parents, this year we are even more in need of sponsors for the Xmas Sprint Meet. We need EVERYONE to ask a company either who they work for or a company possibly in their area. If we could get over £30 from each sponsor this will help us to raise the much needed funds for this year.
I know that everyone is feeling the strain at the moment in the current financial climate but if we can do our best and ask around then this would go a long way to helping the club.
If you do get a sponsor just e-mail me a logo or hand it to me when you see me, I will be around next weekend Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th November.

TRAINING CANCELLED AT DEARNESIDE SUNDAY MORNING 7TH NOVEMBER
There will be no training for A/A1 squads, no technique clinic and no swimming for the little tots Sunday morning, 7th November at Dearneside Leisure Centre. Training Sunday night at Hoyland is as normal. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
WINTER YORKSHIRE COMPETITION REPORT
PRESENTATION EVENING
Presentation evening will take place earlier that usual this year, and will be held at The Dale Tavern, Worsbrough, Saturday 20th November. More details will be available from the beginning of October.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES
Can all trophies from last year's club championships please be returned to Julie Higgins (or any committee member) no later than Saturday 16th October. Please ensure that all trophies have been engraved and cleaned prior to returning and are wrapped in bubble wrap or pother protective material to avoid damage to the trophies.
If anyone has trophies which are damaged can you please return these immediately so they can be repaired in time for the presentation evening.
ALTERATIONS TO TRAINING FOR SUNDAY AFTERNOONS
Due to Hoyland pool being closed for a number of weeks training for all squads will be at Dearneside Sunday afternoons at the times below
Juniors and Senior Development 3.30pm - 4.30pm
A2 and Intermediate Squads 4.30pm - 5.30pm
A and A1 Squads 5.30pm - 6.30pm
Swimmers who usually have lessons in the little pool will all swim 3.00pm - 3.30pm at Dearneside
NO TRAINING BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY - 3RD MAY
There will be no training for the Intermediate Squad Monday 3rd May, instead all Intermediates will train at the Metrodome Wednesday 5th May 6.30pm-8.00pm
HOYLAND -SUNDAY 4TH APRIL 2010
The pool at Hoyland Leisure Centre will be open Sunday evening 4th April for training as usual.
POOL CLOSURES OVER EASTER
Dearneside pool will be closed Friday evening 2nd April
Metrodome Competition Pool will be closed both Friday and Monday evening 2nd and 5th April
Training Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th April is as normal.
RAG BAG COLLECTION
There will be another Rag Bag Collection on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd May. Please start collecting any re-wearable clothes, bags, paired shoes or any household textiles, bags will be provided later.
